Talks aimed at averting strikes by London Underground drivers have been adjourned until next week.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) are set to stage a series of 24-hour walkouts, starting on August 3, in protest at plans to scrap the pay grade of Night Tube drivers.

Transport for London (TfL) has warned of disruption to Tube services if the industrial action goes ahead.

Strikes are planned from noon on August 3, 5, 24 and 26.

A spokesman for the conciliation service Acas said on Friday: “Acas talks on the Tube drivers dispute have adjourned for the day and will resume on Monday August 2.”

TfL said the action would mean that all Tube lines would run a “significantly reduced” service at some times and would not run at others, and that passengers should complete their journeys by 1pm on Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th of August.
