'Not for the faint-hearted': Property listing comes with warning from agent

An inner Sydney home has gone on the market but not without a warning from its listing agents that it’s the “ultimate fixer upper”.

The home in Waterloo, described as a “dilapidated 1880s terrace ready for revival”, features three bedrooms, a kitchen and living room.

But it’s in need of a lot of tender love and care and described as in a “derelict state and completely unliveable in (its) current condition”.

“Not for the faint-hearted, this rundown terrace is in need of a complete overhaul essentially offering a blank canvas ready for renovation,” its listing on Realestate.com.au reads.

“Held for over half a century with only ever two families in ownership, there's so much potential with soaring four-metre high ceilings and rear lane access offering scope to instate parking.”

It has damaged walls and floorboards.

What’s also eyebrow-raising is the home doesn’t have an indoor bathroom.

There is, however, a toilet located outside.

It’s said to be reminiscent of London's “distinguished” Knightsbridge terraces.

The dilapidated terrace will go under the hammer on August 1.

Listing agent Jack McGhee, from Ray White, told the Daily Telegraph he expects it to sell for at least $800,000.

However, he believes it will cost a minimum $250,000 to repair it.
