A Sydney woman has been charged over allegedly stealing more than $800,000 from a company she led.

For 14 years, the woman was the general manager of a company that ran three fast food outlets in western Sydney.

She is now accused of funneling $827,169 from the business into her own bank account over that time since 2005.

The theft was discovered earlier this year and reported to police, who arrested the woman on Friday afternoon after an investigation.

The former chief executive was charged with obtaining benefit by deception and was granted bail to appear 7 August at Mount Druitt Local Court.
