Swan anticipates growth slowdown

Treasurer Wayne Swan says he expects the next set of economic growth figures to show a slight moderation.

But that doesn't mean the economy won't be resilient in the face of global volatility.

"We've got the national accounts out tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw, you know, a slight moderation in growth," Mr Swan told reporters in Canberra on Tuesday.

The treasurer noted the economy had seen above trend growth in the first half of 2012 and cited central bank statement saying growth was running close to trend.

As well, low unemployment, contained inflation, a strong investments pipeline and strong public finances meant "the glass is more than half full".
