Stuff your stockings with these holiday candy recipes

With the infinite assortment of desserts, it’s no wonder the holidays are often considered the sweetest time of year. If you’re looking for the perfect gift for the sweets lovers in your life, what could be better than some homemade candy? From peanut brittle to peppermint patties, stuff your stockings with these five holiday candy recipes.

Traveling home for the holidays? Here are 4 things you need to do right now.

1. Rice Krispies snowballs

This Rice Krispies recipe is “snow” much fun! Begin by combining Rice Krispies with a mix of melted butter, mini marshmallows and peanut butter. Next, take a portion of the batter, flatten it, and place a mini peanut butter cup in the center. Fold the Rice Krispies mix over the peanut butter cup to form a ball. Dip each ball in melted white chocolate, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and add sprinkles. Refrigerate for 20 minutes before serving.

2. Homemade peanut brittle

You’ll go nuts for this holiday classic. First, boil a mix of sugar, water and light corn syrup. Next, add salted peanuts, butter and baking soda. Finally, pour the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate until it’s hardened.

3. Homemade peppermint patties

Keep things minty fresh with these homemade peppermint patties. Begin by combining powdered sugar, an egg white and peppermint essence to form a soft dough. Next, roll the dough into discs. Finally, dip one-half of each disc into melted chocolate and decorate with crushed candy canes.

4. Candy bowl made from peppermint swirls

Put those peppermint swirls to work with this recipe. TikToker @ketoaccountable begins by arranging a spiral formation of green and red striped mints onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper before baking at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. Next, she molds the melted mints over the bottom of a glass bowl coated in oil and secures it with an elastic band. Once cooled, remove the mint bowl from the glass mold, and the edible candy bowl is ready for action.

5. Brown butter toffee

This classic holiday candy is super easy to make! Boil a mix of butter, sugar, cream, golden syrup and vinegar. Pour the mixture into a pot lined with parchment paper. Then let cool and slice. Garnish with sea salt for the perfect blend of sweet and salty.
