New Zealand's Briscoe Group has publicly announced plans to take over outdoor clothing and equipment chain Kathmandu but is yet to let the company know of its intentions.
QAN - QANTAS AIRWAYS - up 6.5 cents, or 2.15 per cent, at $3.085
Qantas has lifted passenger numbers modestly as a strong performance from Jetstar and its international operations offset further weakness in its domestic business.
SGH - SLATER AND GORDON - down 13 cents, or 3.44 per cent, at $3.65
Shares in law firm Slater and Gordon have slumped by more than 10 per cent amid ongoing worries about its UK business.
