Starbucks customers stunned by employee's ‘scary’ alleged drive-thru reveal: ‘Never going again’

A TikTok user is blowing minds with a new Starbucks drive-thru “secret.”

The reveal, which is the latest in a string of surprising drive-thru information, comes courtesy of a user named Zander. His clip, which has drawn nearly 1.4 million views, shows why your conversations with the employee taking your order are actually not that private.

As Zander’s clip shows, nearly every Starbucks employee is wearing a headset during their shift. Those headsets, he claims, are all connected to the same channel — all the time.

“Yes, we can all hear you. And yes we do sometimes make fun of your drink,” Zander captioned his video.

Basically, Zander’s point is that the entire staff can hear you in the Starbucks drive-thru. So, every failed joke, awkward exchange or botched pronunciation of espresso con panna gets heard by everyone.

The reveal, coupled with Zander’s earlier video explaining how baristas can actually watch you ordering on camera, took many TikTok users by surprise. Some called it “creepy” or “scary.”

“My social anxiety will no longer let me go to the drive-thru,” one user wrote.

“Never going again,” another added.

“Thank you for ruining Starbucks for me,” another wrote.

“So that means everyone heard me say ‘venti fry’ instead of ‘venti chai?'” another joked.

Others were much less troubled by the news. Instead, some TikTokers seemed more concerned with the implications of Zander’s reveal.

“OK but y’all still make my order wrong when all of y’all hear what said?” one user asked.

“Just so y’all are aware, this is how most drive-thrus work,” another added.

Zander, meanwhile, has kept sharing juicy tidbits about working at the coffee chain. In another video, he detailed exactly what his store’s order screen looks like.
