Sorbent maker Asaleo back in the black

Asaleo Care has posted a half-year profit of $7.3 million

Asaleo Care has reported a return to profit as the tissue and hygiene products manufacturer released its half-year results.

Net profit for the six months to June 30 totalled $7.3 million as the company behind the Sorbent and Libra brands bounced back from a $101.5 million loss in the previous corresponding period while it said underlying revenue edged up 2.2 per cent to $202 million.

Chief executive Sid Takla said the results were in line with expectations and the company, which decided there would be no interim dividend, had benefited from the sale of the Consumer Tissue Australia business.
