Bailey Breedlove took to Facebook earlier in the month to explain the alleged situation, claiming that she and her family were visiting the Six Flags in Oklahoma City when an officer “followed her” and “grabbed her arm” before telling Breedlove that her shorts were too short.
“I was told I needed to go buy new shorts,” Breedlove claimed. “Then I was threatened with criminal trespassing when I agreed to buy new shorts so my family could enjoy their vacation.”
A member of Breedlove’s family started to film the altercation, which ended up on TikTok.
“I was terrified I was about to go to jail over a pair of shorts,” Breedlove wrote in her Facebook post. “My 11-year-old daughter [was] crying hysterically thinking her mother was about to be arrested.”
Now, Six Flags has commented on the incident.
A spokesperson for the park told The New York Post that Breedlove “was initially stopped because her shorts exposed a significant portion of her buttocks.” However, the spokesperson said the mom was escorted from the park because “of her behavior towards the police, our team members and other park guests.”
Breedlove “was given multiple opportunities to change or cover up, but refused,” the spokesperson added. “Instead, she responded with profanity and offensive conduct, including further exposing her buttocks.”
The spokesperson concluded that Six Flags “does not body shame” and “did not remove this guest from Frontier City [the name of the specific park location] because of the length of her shorts.”
Breedlove has not publically responded to Six Flags’ comments, but she did post another video on May 12 — a full day after The Post published the Six Flags’ statement — tagging the accounts of Six Flags and Frontier City Oklahoma and the Six Flags.
The video features a screenshot of a woman wearing shorts with the words “Six Flags” written across the back. It’s unclear if this is official Six Flags merchandise since the photo was taken from Flickr.
“Do you not sell and make these?” she wrote in the caption. “Women can wear what they want!”
