Former Woodside chief executive Don Voelte has been appointed chief executive of Seven West Media, replacing David Leckie.
Mr Leckie said he would take a new role as executive director of media at Seven Group Holdings, which holds investments in Seven West, earthmoving company WesTrac and Agricultural Bank of China.
Mr Leckie had been chief executive of Seven West, which owns the Seven Network and The West Australian newspaper, for nine years.
"It's time for me to take a career step and I'm looking forward to playing a key role in Seven Group Holdings and further enhancing the company's media presence," he said in a statement.
Seven West and Seven Group chairman Kerry Stokes said Mr Voelte had made a strong contribution as a member of the Seven West board.
"He is acknowledged for driving businesses in challenging and competitive markets," Mr Stokes said.
Mr Voelte was chief executive of energy company Woodside from 2004 to 2011.
Seven West also confirmed the guidance it gave in April of full year underlying earnings of between $460 million to $470 million.
The company said in April that weak advertising revenues would result in lower earnings than had previously been expected.
