Yahoo Finance Sasha Banks will wear her own exclusive sneaker for Wrestlemania in WWE-Footlocker partnership
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is known for its pomp and circumstance, and this only intensifies when the company is on “the road to WrestleMania.” On Sunday, WWE hosts its marquee event of the year: WrestleMania. The 35th edition of the Super Bowl of professional wrestling will emanate from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
As usual, WWE is pulling out all the stops when it comes to promoting its flagship event, but this year, it’s doing something different — getting into the sneaker game.
The FILA x WWE collection will feature three designs. The FILA Original Fitness x WrestleMania will feature black and white colorways, each with hints of metallic gold and purple, plus an icy outsole. Each pair sports a custom insole which highlights memorable moments in WrestleMania history. The shoe will release on April 4, exclusively on FootLocker.com and at its Times Square New York location.
WWE superstars Sasha Banks and Kofi Kingston got their own kicks in the collaboration and revealed them on their respective Twitter and Instagram accounts. The FILA Disruptor 2 x Sasha Banks feature a gold leather upper, white midsole, and pink sole. Only 713 pairs will release — the number represents the date that Banks officially arrived on WWE’s “Monday Night Raw.”
Kingston’s kicks, named the FILA Original Fitness x The New Day, feature the pastel blue, pink, and white colorway of his New Day Tag Team stable. According to Kingston, only 483 pairs were made of his shoe in honor of the New Day Tag Team record-breaking streak of 483 days as tag team champions.
Prices for both pairs of shoes have yet to be revealed.
Sasha Banks stated on Twitter that she would be wearing her sneakers during her match at WrestleMania 35.
