Supermarket giant, Woolworths has confirmed it will hold a 50 per cent off sale on freezer items on Thursday 14 March, following days of rumours.

The promotion will see a selection of freezer aisle products plummet in price, excluding Woolworths branded, Low Price Always and Prices Dropped products.

But there’s a catch: the sale, which begins at midnight tonight, is online only.

“Available exclusively to Woolworths online Delivery and Pick-Up customers, a selection of freezer items will be half price this Thursday 14 March. This offer is Australia wide, and for one day only,” a Woolworths’ spokesperson told Yahoo Finance.

The sale was first spotted by Facebook group Markdown Addicts Australia last week, when a user posted a picture of a sales promotion in a Maryborough Queensland store.

However there was some confusion over whether the sale was for just Maryborough, or if it was Australia wide.

So, is it time to stock up on some Magnum ice creams?
