Yahoo Finance Restaurant host acts out the most annoying things customers do: ‘I’m guilty on this one’
A restaurant worker is spilling the beans on what the most annoying customers do.
Alana Fineman works as a host at a San Diego restaurant. She shares stories about nightmare customers on her TikTok, which has over 450,000 followers. Fineman turns the irksome things that some patrons do into funny skits. It seems demanding customers with unreasonable expectations is her major pet peeve. “This has happened six times this week,” Fineman wrote in the caption. In the clip, she played the role of host and customer.
Customer: “Hi, I’m here meeting a few people.”
Host: “OK, do they have a reservation?”
Customer: “They might. Maybe under Joe… or Selena… but, like, I don’t know if they have one.”
Host: “OK, do you know how many people you’re looking for?”
Customer: “There’s two of us… or maybe five… or maybe eight… or maybe three.”
The customer also insisted the reservation was 5 p.m., 6 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. When the host said the customer could look around the restaurant for their party, the customer became upset that the host didn’t look up the reservation on the computer.
So the next time you’re meeting friends for dinner, you might want to know a few details for the host when you arrive.
“OK, I’m guilty on this one. But I usually immediately call my party to double-check,” someone commented.
“People are smart, it’s when people become customers things change!” another joked.
