Bride's mother-in-law slammed for 'inexcusable' wedding move

A bride's mother-in-law has been slammed for making an 'inexcusable' move at her son's wedding.

In photos shared on Reddit, the woman is pictured wearing a lacy white dress as she poses with the groom and her new daughter-in-law.

Who is who?

With its round neckline, lace overlay and sheer lace sleeves, her frock is so strikingly similar to the bride's it's unclear who is who at first glance.

The fact that the bride and her mother-in-law are of similar height and both are sporting long, wavy light blonde hair with matching centre parts only adds to the confusion.

With everyone's faces blurred before the photos were uploaded, it's the wedding bouquet that does most of the work in identifying between the man's mother and his new wife.

'This is inexcusable'

Not content with twinning with the bride in white lace, the mother-in-law appears to later change into a second dress, this one also white.

Reddit users had some strong opinions about the woman's decision to wear not one but two white dresses to her son's nuptials.

"Can't decide what's more creepy: the bride looks already like the mom? The mom styled herself like the bride?" wrote one user in the comments.

"I am so concerned about the death grip she's got on his arm," pointed out another while a third simply wrote, "Disturrrrrrrbing".

One user shared their own experience with mothers and white dresses, explaining that her mum had planned to wear white to her wedding a few weeks earlier.

"It hadn't even occurred to her it would be inappropriate considering I was wearing a white dress.

"Some people just don't consider the feelings of others around them... in the above case though you have to wonder... planning it out like that just comes across as petty."

Others wondered how other guests had resisted the urge to indicate their disapproval.

"How has no one had the courage to spill wine on her yet? This is inexcusable," one asked.

"Maybe someone did. There are two dresses," replied another.
