Which Premier League clubs can have fans in stadiums? How tiers affect each club

Half of the Premier League's clubs will have to continue their games behind closed doors this season after the government announced which tiers different areas will be placed in.

The new restrictions, which come into effect on December 2, mean clubs in Tier 1 areas (currently none) would be able to welcome up to 4,000 supporters back to games. Those in Tier 2 can open their doors to 2,000 supporters while clubs under the most stringent restrictions, Tier 3, must continue behind closed doors.

After the government confirmed which areas fell into which tiers, 10 Premier League clubs received the desperate news that they will not be able to welcome back fans.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City are under Tier 3 restrictions, as well as: Aston Villa, Burnley, Leeds, Leicester, Newcastle, Sheffield United, West Brom and Wolves.

The entirety of London's clubs (Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham) will be able to sell tickets to 2,000 fans having been confirmed as under Tier 2 restrictions. Champions Liverpool will welcome fans back for the first time since lifting their first Premier League title, while Brighton, Southampton and Everton are all in Tier 2 areas.

The restrictions will be reviewed by government on December 16.
