Paul George jokes about lack of rings while celebrating engagement

Paul George famously has no rings.

He made it as far as the conference finals twice in 2013 and 2014 as a member of the Indiana Pacers. Both times, LeBron James’ Miami Heat ended his run, and he hasn’t advanced past the second round since, whether with the Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder or Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite the lack of postseason success, George has famously dubbed himself “Playoff P.” It’s a monicker that reached new comedic heights this postseason with the Clippers’ spectacularly unexpected second-round playoff exit to the Denver Nuggets.

No rings, but a sense of humor

George shot 39.8 percent from the field as the Clippers fizzled from title favorites to the butt of NBA jokes. On Thursday, George was able to have a laugh at his own expense while celebrating some personal news in the process.

George wished his girlfriend and now fiancée Daniela Rajic a happy birthday on Instagram while celebrating their engagement from earlier this week. Note the hashtag.

#Shegotaringfirst.

It’s good to see that George has sense of humor. “Playoff P” would be a heavy burden to carry otherwise.
