Yahoo Finance Patrice Evra insists Liverpool must win three Premier League titles in a row to be ‘great’
Patrice Evra insists Liverpool cannot be a “great” team until they win three consecutive Premier League titles.
The Frenchman won three titles in a row during his time with Manchester United from 2007-2009.
The Reds won the title last season by 18 points, backing up their Champions League win from the previous year.
A 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday ensured Jurgen Klopp’s side are now unbeaten at Anfield over 64 games, which is a club record.

But despite Liverpool’s recent dominance, Evra maintains they have a long way to go until they can rival the greatest teams historically.
“We need to calm down, it’s only nine games. I will call them a great team when they win three league titles in a row,” Evra said on Sky Sports.
“If they don’t win this year, I won’t call them an amazing team – it’s all about consistency and they win the league year after year – that’s when we call them the great Liverpool team.

“Many teams before that have done that and I will call them the best Liverpool team when they win three leagues in a row.”
Despite suffering numerous injuries in recent weeks, including the loss of Virgil Van Dijk for the season, the Reds overcame the Foxes to draw level with Tottenham at the top of the table.

And after assessing the game, Freddie Ljungberg, who won two titles between 2002 and 2004 with Arsenal, concurred with Evra’s view.
The Swede added: “It’s a great, great club and to say they’re the best team compared to other histories and team, I don’t think that’s fair. I agree with Patrice though.”
