Panera customers are discovering the powers of ‘charged’ menu item: ‘I feel like the hulk’

A Panera Bread customer looked up the nutrition facts of her favorite drink — now she thinks it should be illegal.

TikToker @sarahebaus works remotely from her local Panera. Whenever she’s there, she orders a Mango Yuzu Citrus Charged Lemonade and gets about four refills. She couldn’t help but notice that she always felt great and productive at Panera. Then she figured out why…

“I have learned something that should be illegal,” she said.

When her husband wanted to purchase the same drink one day, he looked up the nutrition info because he has Type 1 diabetes. It turns out her drink of choice has 82 grams of sugar and 260 milligrams of caffeine.

A shot of espresso only has 63 milligrams of caffeine, and she isn’t even a regular coffee drinker. So let’s just say the Panera drink had a strong effect on her.

“I feel like the hulk,” she said.

People could relate to the TikToker’s caffeine euphoria.

“This was honestly the best advertisement FOR this lemonade bc I was convinced it wouldnt have enough caffeine for me lol,” someone said.

“Not me running to Panera to get one, thinking about everything I can get done this afternoon,” a person added.

“I could tell you had been drinking charged lemonades by the sound of your voice… I’ve been there,” a TikToker joked.

“That’s why they call it super charged lemonade lmao,” a user commented.

“I can’t believe you havent been having caffeine withdrawals on non-Panera days,” another wrote.
