Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished lower on Thursday.
Here’s a short recap of the Australian market:
- S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) lower 0.33% to 7,008.40
- ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) lower 0.38% to 7,108.60
- AUD/USD at US 67 cents
- Gold at US$1,579.42 an ounce
- Brent Oil at US$59.28 a barrel
One of the best-performing ASX 200 shares today was gold miner Gold Road Resources Ltd (ASX: GOR), its share price rose nearly 11% after releasing its quarterly activities report.
Another of the day’s top performers was Treasury Wine Estates Ltd (ASX: TWE) as it rebounded from yesterday’s fall.
It was a very painful day for aerial imaging company Nearmap Ltd (ASX: NEA), its share price fell around 30% after downgrading its growth expectations for FY20.
Lithium miner Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: PLS) experienced a share price fall of more than 10% as it gave its quarterly report.
Worries continue to affect the Webjet Limited (ASX: WEB) share price, it drifted lower by another 7%.
The share price of WAM Global Limited (ASX: WGB) rose by 3.2% after the listed investment company (LIC) reported and grew its dividend.
Insurance giant Suncorp Group Ltd (ASX: SUN) gave a natural hazard and reserve release update today – its share price dropped 0.3% in response.
Finally, the share price of Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX: NCM) fell by 2.8% after the large gold miner gave its quarterly report.
