The best-performing ASX 200 share today was the Smartgroup Corporation Ltd (ASX: SIQ) share price which rose by 21% after last week’s result.

Another business to see its share price perform well today belonged to Beach Energy Ltd (ASX: BPT), it climbed 11.4% thanks to its released report.

The Lendlease Group (ASX: LLC) share price went up almost 11% with investors pleased by what they read in the FY19 report.

The share price of Netwealth Group Ltd (ASX: NWL) rose by 3.6% after revealing its FY19 report to investors.

It was a painful day for the shareholders of BlueScope Steel Limited (ASX: BSL), its report sent the share price down by over 8%.

The share price of NIB Holdings Limited (ASX: NHF) fell 6.3% after reporting its result but warning of likely lower profit margins in FY20.

Finally, the share price of gold miner Saracen Mineral Holdings Limited (ASX: SAR) fell over 5% after reporting.

Here are some of today’s top stories:

  • What does an inverted yield curve mean?
  • Is it a good idea to use a credit card for spending money?
  • 2 ASX growth shares I’m watching this week
  • Why I’m still banking on Xero shares as it sticks to FY 2020 guidance

It will be very interesting to see the market’s reaction tomorrow to Altium’s result. I think Altium, along with these top ASX shares could be worth a place in a quality portfolio.
