Odell Beckham Jr. thanks fans for support after ACL injury: 'This is tough, really f------ tough'

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. appreciates all the fans who wished him well following his torn ACL. Beckham sent a message to those fans on Instagram on Friday, thanking them and letting them know the injury is “really f— tough.”

Beckham’s message marked the first time he spoke about the injury publicly. He said his emotions were still flowing, and that he was going to take some me time while he healed.

Beckham, 27, suffered the injury during the team’s Week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He injured himself making a tackle after chasing down a defender. Beckham will miss the rest of the season due to the injury.

Odell Beckham looking to return to form with Browns once he’s back

Since being traded to the Browns prior to the 2019 NFL season, Beckham has tried to recapture the success he had early in his career. In his first three seasons, Beckham averaged 96 catches, 1,374 receiving yards and 11.7 touchdowns per season. Since then, he’s averaged 49.8 catches, 677 yards and four touchdowns per year, though Beckham has been limited by injuries over that period.

Beckham showed he’s still capable of taking over a game in 2020. Against the Dallas Cowboys, he gained 154 yards from scrimmage and scored three touchdowns. That type of performance should have Browns fans eagerly awaiting Beckham’s return to action in 2021.
