Obama: Sony made 'mistake' in pulling North Korea film

US President Barack Obama speaks during a press conference on December 19, 2014 in Washington

Sony Pictures "made a mistake" in canceling the release of "The Interview" -- a satirical film about North Korea -- after threats made by hackers, US President Barack Obama said Friday.

"I'm sympathetic to the concerns that they faced. Having said all that, yes, I think they made a mistake," Obama told a press conference. "We cannot have a society in which some dictator some place can start imposing censorship here in the United States."
