Notorious Twitter blocker Ben Roethlisberger will reportedly unblock all accounts

If you’re one of the substantial number of Twitter users who have been blocked by Ben Roethlisberger, but want to keep up with things like his beard trends, you’re now in luck. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is unblocking everyone, per a report by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

Roethlisberger is known to be an avid blocker, or at least his account is known for it. He said he doesn’t run his own account, but still acknowledged that hundreds were being blocked by the person who runs it for him. Some people have no clue why the were blocked in the first place, and even the smallest discretion can get a user sent off.

Starting to wonder if you’ve made the list? His verified Twitter account is @_BigBen7.

This has been going on for years. Roethlisberger told Scott Van Pelt back in 2017 he had no control over the account. Via The Comeback:

“I don’t do Twitter, that’s the funny thing. I do not do my Twitter. I do not do Insta — whatever all that stuff is now. It’s not me.

“There is an awesome, awesome woman, Erin [Cox] who runs my website, who does all that stuff for me. And she is one of the nicest, sweetest people around. And if you say something bad, you’re gonna get blocked, I guess. I have nothing to do with it. That’s the funniest part.”

Roethlisberger has nothing to do with it, but the account represents him. Smart.

According to Florio, the account will unblock everyone starting Tuesday. Some on Twitter have already said they’re unblocked. Which means the next time he cuts off his beard, his sign to fans that recovery is going well after elbow surgery, more fans will actually know about it.
