Australian property hunters can’t stop checking out a North Gosford home featuring mouldy splashbacks, a rotting deck and walls peppered with holes, with the home now one of the most-viewed properties this week.

The listing for the four bedroom home comes with a sassy description: “Looking to move straight in? Then this one isn't for you.

“The current owners of this family-sized four bedroom, two bathroom home have kindly commenced the renovation process starting with the removal of the gyprock walls - one punch at a time!” the listing, by Gittoes agents Richard Faulkner and Matt Gravas, reads.

“And the years of ignoring any upkeep has really assisted in getting the removal of the timber deck underway too.”

The home, which has a bidder’s guide of $450,000, needs “more than a fresh coat of paint” the listing continues, as prospective buyers will need to battle a “mould theme” that flows throughout the home.

“Other features include holes in the walls of most rooms, the aforementioned rotting timber deck that backs onto a completely private fully fenced yard with established gardens, and a carport that will fit many makes and models of cars - as long as they are not too high.”

The listing continues by noting that realistically, this home would be rebuilt.

“Here lies a rare opportunity for you to create your very own dream home on a flat 689sqm block - from the ground up if you choose, and possibly also add a granny flat.

“Ideally located a short walk from quality schools, transport, the hospital, shops and medical centres, this is an opportunity not to be missed.”
