No deal on pay cuts for Arrium workers

Arrium workers in South Australia look unlikely to accept a 12 per cent pay cut to help save the Whyalla steel plant.

Administrators KordaMentha are understood to have told workers the proposed three-year deal, which includes a two per cent increase in the final year and would save the business $20 million, is their final offer.

But Australian Workers Union organiser Scott Martin says he believes there is still room for negotiation when the parties meet again on Wednesday.
