Update: Movie Frenzy advised after publication of this story that Parasite has been removed from its $3 sale.

New-release films like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Rocketman will be offered on streaming for just $3 each during a three-day sale this week.

The films, which are nearing the end of their cinema run but not yet released on subscription streaming, will be available for one-off rental on platforms like Google Play, Microsoft Store, iTunes, Apple TV, Telstra TV, Fetch, Foxtel Store and Playstation Store.

The sale, called Movie Frenzy, will run from Friday February 21 to Sunday February 23. Some older films will go for even less than $3.

Brad Pitt won his first Academy Award this month for his performance as stuntman Cliff Booth in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Australian Home Entertainment Distributors Association chair Jim Batchelor said Movie Frenzy is now a "highly anticipated event" among movie buffs.

"It's a great reminder of the huge range of films always available when you want and without the need for a subscription."
