Australians across the country are reportedly facing issues with logging onto Netflix, as lockdowns leave millions of Aussies with no choice but to spend their weekends at home.
Yahoo Finance understands that thousands of Aussies are struggling with accessing the popular streaming service, with people from Sydney to Adelaide reporting issues.
Outage detector sites Down Detector and Is The Service Down? both reveal a sharp uptick of Australians flagging issues with using the streaming service.
More from Yahoo Finance:
More than 2,000 Australians have now reported the issue to Down Detector.
The issues appear to have begun from roughly 12:19pm AEDT onwards.
Screenshots sent to Yahoo Finance show a Sydneysider accessing Netflix via desktop and an Aussie based in Adelaide using Netflix via the mobile app were unable to use the streaming service.
Some social media users have already cottoned on to the outage.
“The service is offline down here in Melbourne Australia,” tweeted Jay Henenberg.
“Wonder why it's gone down and how long it will be unavailable? Good reason to get outside for a walk.”
The issue appears to be global, with users in America, Malaysia and Canada also experiencing problems.
The upside is, the outage in Australia looks to be patchy; many locals also told Yahoo Finance they had no issue with the service.
