Yahoo Finance NCAA women's tournament bracket: Stanford No. 1 overall, joined by UConn, South Carolina, NC State
It's tournament time. After a year of safety precautions and COVID-19 pauses, the 2021 NCAA women's basketball tournament is set to tip off from San Antonio later this week in a bubble-like, limited-fan atmosphere. It takes an extra special meaning after the tournament was canceled last March.
Stanford is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. The Cardinal (25-2) endured a nine-week road trip due to local COVID-19 restrictions en route to the Pac-12 regular season and tournament titles.

Connecticut, South Carolina and North Carolina State rounded out the four No. 1 seeds. There was no clear-cut choice for top overall, or even for the four No. 1 seeds, in a year of parity at the top of the pack.
The regionals are named for famous sites in the city: the Alamo, the Hemisfair, the Mercado and the River Walk.

The last four out of the 64-team bracket will still be in San Antonio to fill in if a team has to drop out because of COVID-19. Those four are Houston, DePaul, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
