New Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that N'Golo Kante is back in training after his hamstring injury.

Kante has not played for Chelsea since January 3 but he is closing in a return to action.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge but Tuchel insists he is a big part of his plans at Chelsea and has revealed where he sees his best position.

Tuchel said: “I think he is strongest in the double six, in the centre, in the heart of the game. It gives him a little bit more freedom than when he plays a single six, which demands a bit more discipline and maybe cuts his wings a little bit.

“For me, he is a double six because we can use his energy and use his range, his volume in his game. His ability to recuperate and recover balls everywhere on the pitch. He is a guy who is a big, big helper for everybody.

“He has the mentality of a helper, of a water carrier. But at the same time a world-class player who played a crucial role in the World Cup win for France. That is why it is super important to have him.”
