Yahoo Finance Mum's chilling tweets before being killed alongside daughter
A mother who posted an SOS message on Twitter has tragically died in a building fire along with her young daughter.
The incident was reported in the city of Yekaterinburg, the administrative centre of the western Ural Federal District of Russia on Tuesday.
A fire broke out in the nine-storey building in the early hours of the morning, according to local news station NTV.
Natalya Lvovna Belova, 38, and her daughter, identified only as seven-year-old Vera, were trapped on the top floor.
Instead of calling the emergency services, Natalya used Twitter to ask for help, local news reported.
“Help. The building is on fire. Call the fire department... I'm locked in here with my child. The flat below is on fire. We are suffocating. Ninth floor. We are dying,” she wrote in a series of tweets.

The fire started on the second floor, NTV reported.
More than 30 firefighters and nine brigades took part in the operation during which they evacuated 90 people from the building.
Six other people, who have not been named, died due to injuries caused by the fire, according to the Gazeta newspaper.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said “when the rescuers arrived, both Belova and her daughter were still alive”.
“They were carried out from the ninth floor, but doctors, unfortunately, could not save them. Why she wrote on Twitter is also unclear. Rescuers are not monitoring Twitter,” the ministry said.
There is no further information about how the fire started and an investigation is underway.
