Moonstone necklaces, ‘Full Moon’ parties, marshmallow root and more: Woman recalls living with ‘a witch as a mother’

What’s it like growing up with a witch for a mom? One influencer has the inside scoop.

Liberty Áva Walker (@libertyavawalker), an English singer-songwriter who previously discussed the “iconic” ways she and her sister tried to get rid of one of their dad’s girlfriends, is now opening up about being raised by “a witch.”

When she first got her period, Liberty says, her mother gave her a special necklace.

“So when me and my sister first started our periods when we were younger, we both got given a moonstone crystal necklace, which is in the shape of a full moon,” she says. “She also made sure we had a period party, which was like…she called it a ‘Full Moon Party.’ So like, we had peppermint creams as treats because they’re completely round and like all of the food was themed in some magical way.”

According to Liberty, her mother would “always be venturing off” to “any sort of magical place” like Stonehenge or Stanton Drew, two locations of prehistoric landmarks in England.

“…anytime there’s some sort of full moon or eclipse or whatnot, she’s always dancing outside in the garden at midnight with a full bowl of crystals.”

Growing up, Liberty says her mother had a distinct dress she wore “during her ceremonies.”

“She has this dress and it’s just like covered in the print of s**** and like anytime there’s some sort of full moon or eclipse or whatnot, she’s always dancing outside in the garden at midnight with a bowl full of crystals,” Liberty says. “Not sure what’s going on there but love it.”

Liberty’s mother also “rustles up something” whenever anyone feels ill.

“I felt really sick like a couple weeks ago and she gave me this cup, and it literally looked like blended up pond water with mold floating on the top of it. She’s like, ‘Drink this. It’s marshmallow root,'” Liberty says. “And I drank it. No joke, within like 10 minutes I felt perfect.”

“And then at the end, we’d open the front door and we’d say, ‘Let the negativity out!'”

After her father would return home to grab more of his items, Liberty says her mother would make a point of cleansing their house.

“After every visit he came back to get his stuff, my mom would sage the house and she would give us sauce pans and like tambourines to bash out the negative energy,” Liberty says. “And then at the end, we’d open the front door and we’d say, ‘Let the negativity out!’ So we’d like bless the house of all of the bad vibes.”

“Me thinking she meant her mom was mean and not a hocus pocus witch”

Liberty’s video has left commenters endeared by her mother. Many request a mom reveal in the near future.

“She sounds like the coolest mum ever,” someone replied.

“we need a mum reveal!!!” another said.

“Me thinking she meant her mom was mean and not a hocus pocus witch,” a user commented.

Based on Liberty’s video, it seems her childhood was anything but boring. We’ll certainly consider bashing out the negative energy going forward!
