Mom shares hilarious review of racy new Lil Nas X song: 'These celebrities are role models'

In response to several parents and media outlets criticizing Lil Nas X for his “inappropriate” new song “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name),” one TikTok mom is standing up for the Grammy-winning rapper in a hilarious way.

Elizabeth Houston (@bookersquared), a 30-year-old D.C.-based TikToker, recently went viral on the platform after making a satirical video explaining why Lil Nas X’s new song is “unacceptable.” Lil Nas X himself even caught wind of the video and duetted it with his amused reactions.

At the beginning of the video, Houston leads viewers to believe that her views are in line with those of the irked parents calling to cancel Lil Nas X.

“This new ‘Call Me By Your Name’ song by Lil Nas X is unacceptable,” Houston said. “As a mother, I need to speak out against this, because children are impressionable.”

This is all mockery, though. The only thing Houston is “upset” at Lil Nas X for is the fact that her toddler son is going to watch his video and “want thigh-high boots,” which she’s going to have a hard time finding!

“This song is going to make [my son] start pole dancing at the park, and children don’t have 1s to throw at him,” she jokingly added. “So now my son’s just out there throwing it back for free?”

Houston ended her video with powerful commentary on how many parents expect celebrities to also be role models for their children.

“These celebrities are role models. I mean if they don’t raise my kid, then I have to,” she said pointedly.

Commenters got a good laugh from Houston’s video.

“Amazing,” one user said.

“LMAO I LOVE THIS,” another added.

“I can’t love her video enough,” a third wrote.

Lil Nas X has been receiving criticism online for the “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” music video, in which he slides down a stripper pole to Hell in thigh-high boots and gives Satan a lap dance. The rapper, who is openly gay, recently responded to the backlash on Twitter, explaining that his decision to make the provocative music video came from years of being silenced.

“I spent my entire teenage years hating myself because of the shit y’all preached would happen to me because I was gay,” he said. “So I hope u are mad, stay mad, feel the same anger you teach us to have towards ourselves.”
