West Ham United are looking at a deal for Montpellier striker Gaëtan Laborde to bolster David Moyes’ attack for the second half of the season.

Moyes is looking to strengthen his attack following Sebastien Haller’s departure to Ajax in a £20million deal a fortnight ago, with Laborde on his radar in a £16million deal.

Laborde, 26, is in his third season at Montpellier and has scored three goals in his last seven appearances but the Ligue 1 club are set to listen to offers for the player they bought from Bordeaux in 2018.

He has two full seasons left on his contract and is seen as a player who could adapt to the Premier League quickly.

West Ham have been assessing potential targets since Haller’s departure. They are aware Marko Arnautovic, who left them two years ago, could be made available by Shanghai SIPG in China.

Boulaye Dia at Reims is another player from France they have tracked and Blackburn’s Adam Armstrong has impressed should they go down the same EFL route they successful did a year ago when they signed Jarrod Bowen.

Michail Antonio played up front and scored the winner in the 1-0 win over Burnley at the weekend but a striker remains Moyes’ priority in the current window. He would also look at a back-up at left-back to ease the workload of Aaron Cresswell.

Jesse Lingard from one United to another?

Jesse Lingard is weighing up a move to Sheffield United on a six-month loan to give him regular first-team football.

The Manchester United midfielder played in the FA Cup last week but is wanted at Bramall Lane to bolster Chris Wilder’s midfield in their bid to climb off the foot of the table.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer allowed Dean Henderson to move to the club last season and the loan was seen as a success.

Alex Pritchard on the move?

Huddersfield winger Alex Pritchard has clubs in the Championship monitoring whether he will be allowed to move, with six months left on his deal at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Queens Park Rangers, Derby County, Birmingham City and Bristol City have been following him in his three seasons at the club. He can sign for a free in the summer if a deal cannot be struck this month.

Tariq Lamptey signs new deal

Tariq Lamptey has signed a new contract at Brighton until 2025 to end hopes of clubs trying to land him this month.

The 20-year-old has been on the radar of major European clubs since moving from Chelsea a year ago and breaking into the first team at the Amex Stadium.
