McKenzie Scott, ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, finalises second divorce
McKenzie Scott - the ex-wife of Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos - has reportedly finalised her divorce from her second husband, Dan Jewett.
Scott, who is worth USD$43.6 billion - according to Forbes magazine - married Jewett - a former chemistry teacher who taught at her child’s school - in March 2021 after splitting from Bezos - then the world’s richest man.
It’s been reported that Jewett has not contested the divorce and that the couple signed a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.

Before her marriage to Jewett, Scott was married to Bezos for 25 years and they share four children. When 52-year-old Scott and Bezos divorced in 2019, her share of the financial settlement was valued at $38.3 billion, making her one of the world’s wealthiest individuals.
Scott announced in 2021 she intended to give away the majority of her fortune to charity. According to a report by Forbes magazine, she has made good on that promise and is currently giving away her fortune faster than any other billionaire in modern times.
So far, Scott has redirected 4.75 million Amazon shares – nearly a quarter of what she was awarded in the divorce – towards a wide range of charitable causes, ranging from gender equality and reproductive rights to the arts and racial justice. So far, her largest single donation was to Habitat for Humanity for USD$436 million.
Bezos now lives with new partner and former Fox News correspondent Lauren Sanchez. The pair have, so far, not announced any plans to marry. He is currently the fifth-wealthiest person in the world.
