'Masked Singer' Fans Are Asking Lots of Questions About the Show's Announcement

The Masked Singer season 6 is officially on its final stretch with Bull, Skunk, Banana Split and Queen of Hearts still in the running for the coveted Golden Mask. But before a winner can be crowned, they must first duke it out on stage — but not in the way it’s been done before.

Before the hit Fox singing competition show went on its Thanksgiving break, fans got a sneak peek of the two-night Masked Singer finale with a promo video. Although the clip is less than a minute long, it was still jam packed with lots of information. By the end of it, folks had a couple of questions.

“They aren't combining group a and b for the finale this [year]?” one person wrote on Instagram. “Unmasking tonight or both going into the grand finale? Confusing process this season,” another added Wednesday morning.

In short, The Masked Singer is switching up the show’s format (again!) and breaking up the semifinals into two different rounds. Instead of having all the remaining celebrity contestants go up against each other, the two members of Group A will compete and only one will advance. Group B will do the same next week. Then, for the grand finale, the winner of Group A and the winner of Group B will have a sing off, and an overall Masked Singer season 6 winner will be chosen.

But there’s another twist. According to the episode promo, Bull and Skunk will perform solos and a duet with the runner-up of Masked Singer season 3 Jesse McCartney or Grammy-winning singer Michael Bolton. As for Group B, for the first time ever panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke will get up on stage and sing on the show. Per Entertainment Weekly, Nicole and Robin are set to do duets with Banana Split and Queen of Hearts.

Even after six seasons, Masked Singer still knows how to up the ante.
