March Madness: Oklahoma's No. 2 scorer De'Vion Harmon tests positive for COVID-19

Oklahoma guard De'Vion Harmon won't be able to play against Missouri on Saturday.

Sooners coach Lon Kruger said Wednesday that Harmon had tested positive for COVID-19. He'll miss No. 8 OU's first-round game against the No. 9 Tigers and will be unavailable if Oklahoma wins and (likely) plays No. 1 Gonzaga in the second round of the West Region.

Kruger added that he was unsure where Harmon had contracted the virus. Oklahoma played Kansas on March 11 in the Big 12 tournament. Kansas pulled out of the conference tournament the next day after Jalen Wilson tested positive for COVID-19.

Harmon is Oklahoma's second-leading scorer behind guard Austin Reaves. Harmon plays 32 minutes a game and averages 13 points and 3.4 rebounds a game. He shoots nearly 48 percent from the field and 57 percent inside the three-point arc.

Without Harmon in the lineup, Reaves will be asked to take on even more of a scoring role. Reaves averages nearly 18 points per game and takes a team-high 12.2 shots per game. Oklahoma (15-10) enters the tournament having lost four of its last five games while Missouri (16-9) has lost six of its last nine games.
