A woman doesn’t want her brother-in-law’s nanny to come on a family vacation.
She asked Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum to weigh in. Her sister-in-law can’t attend the family trip, but her brother-in-law and his kids are supposed to go. An issue arose when the brother-in-law demanded to bring his nanny. The Reddit poster just didn’t want the nanny to go on the vacation.

“I’m planning a family vacation, and I invited my in-laws, including my brother-in-law’s family,” she wrote. “Unfortunately, his wife can’t come, but my brother-in-law said he would come with the kids and his nanny.
“I told him he couldn’t bring the nanny because previously she has come on vacations with us, and she barely helps with the kids and just sits around with my brother-in-law the entire time while me and whoever else is there care for the kids.”
Her brother-in-law insisted that the only way he would go was if the nanny came too.

“He got upset and said he needed her for the kids’ sake, but I told him there would be plenty of other adults there who can help him with them,” she explained. “He’s insisting he still needs her to come and has complained to my husband, who is just telling me to let him bring her since he’s threatening not to come without her, which would be sad for my kids and his.
“I got angry the last time he called to convince me to change my mind and told him not to come then. Now he’s complaining to everyone about how I want to exclude him and his kids.”
Redditors thought the brother-in-law’s behavior was suspicious.
“It kind of sounds like something more is going on here than nannying,” a person commented.
“The fact that he said if his nanny didn’t go, he wouldn’t go is highly suspicious,” another wrote.
“If he’s unable to care for his kids himself, even with help, then he should stay home and practice,” a user said.
