A NSW man has been arrested and charged with scamming people wanting to buy electrical appliances.

NSW Police had been investigating several instances of fraud in the south of the state, when they made the arrest on Wednesday in Queanbeyan.

The 44-year-old man is accused of offering electrical goods for sale, taking a deposit from people, then cutting off contact.

Authorities are in contact with Queensland and Western Australia law enforcement as the man is also accused of similar activities in those states.

Police officers allegedly found an amount of cash with the man upon his arrest, as well as methamphetamine.

The accused was charged on three counts involving fraud and drug possession, and was refused bail to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on Thursday.
