Yahoo Finance Man faces backlash over reaction to his wife’s boxing class success: ‘Some serious fragile masculinity’
A man doesn’t want to go to the gym with his wife anymore because she beat him in a boxing match.
He shared the incident on Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum. When his wife beat him in a boxing match, onlookers heckled him over the loss. Now, he doesn’t want to work out with her anymore because he doesn’t think he has enough time to train to beat her.

“My wife and I work out together,” he wrote. “I’ve been working out a fair bit less since I’ve recently created a startup company. We also occasionally go boxing at the same place where we work out.
“While we don’t try to hurt each other, the matches are still pretty competitive. In the past, I’ve been able to win, but yesterday, my wife actually beat me.”
When people started to “heckle” him over the loss, he also lost his interest in working out with his wife.

“Some a****** started heckling me,” he explained. “My wife just told me to ignore it. But I could tell that she was really happy she beat me. Honestly, I don’t want to work out anymore with her since I just feel like our relationship dynamic has changed completely.
“I know that if I trained more and spent more time working out, I’d win boxing matches against my wife. But I just can’t do that right now since I’m really busy, and until I’m not so busy, I don’t want to work out or box with my wife anymore.
“So it’s OK for her to lose repeatedly, but you lose once and can’t handle it? Some serious fragile masculinity,” a user said.
“It ‘changed the relationship dynamic’ because it hurt his ego, and now he’s bothered,” another wrote.
“The fact that you can physically overpower your wife is part of your relationship dynamic?” someone commented.
