Manchester City battle Aston Villa at the Etihad tonight looking to keep up their Premier League title charge.

City have won eight games on the bounce in all competitions and have been installed as odds-on favourites to win back the top-flight title they conceded to Liverpool last season.

They meet a Villa side whose first-team players have not played a match since New Year’s Day, with the club forced to field a youth side in their FA Cup defeat to Liverpool because of a coronavirus outbreak at the club.

Dean Smith’s men had their Premier League meeting with Everton postponed on Sunday and now have as many as four games in hand over some other teams.

Man City team news

City are expected to remain without Sergio Aguero, who is self-isolating after being deemed a close contact of someone with coronavirus.

The likes of Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Ferran Torres are pushing for involvement after being left on the bench for the 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Man City vs Aston Villa prediction: 3-0 home win

After two weeks away, much of which will have been spent in isolation, Aston Villa’s stars are straight back in at the deep end with a trip to the league’s most in-form outfit and will surely struggle.
