Mad Max cars to set ‘world record’ as they go under the hammer
Movie buffs and car collectors will be battling it out to get their hands on one of 13 of the vehicles from Mad Max: Fury Road.
“Expressions of Madness” were being accepted by Lloyds Auctions which is selling 13 of the steampunk vehicles from the Mad Max movie, filmed in Australia.

Several hundred expressions of interest were made for the collection, a spokesperson from Lloyds told Yahoo Finance from all over the world.
“We’ve narrowed it down to the top 25 bidders are are currently in negotiations with them,” the spokesperson said.
“The biggest thing we’re looking to ascertain is what will be done with the vehicles once sold. The current custodians want to make sure the vehicles will remain on display.”
The cars, which are all working vehicles, can reach speeds of up to 130 kilometres per hour on sand.
The spokesperson said those interested in obtaining the vehicles have come from all around the world, including some from Australia.
Different parties include finance firms who are looking to lease out the vehicles to museums, and even some camps from the iconic Burning Man festival.
“The current custodian wants to ensure the vehicles are honoured, so we’ve narrowed down the bidders to those who we believe will keep the vehicles on display,” the spokesperson said.
The winner is expected to be finalised this week and the price tag is expected to be massive.
“It will be a world record,” the spokesperson said. “There is a very strong chance all 13 vehicles will be sold as a complete collection.”
