Lynas' Malaysian licence renewed

Lynas says Malaysia has approved its operating licence in the country for an initial six months

Lynas Corp says the Malaysian government has renewed its operating licence in the country for an initial six months, bringing to a close a dispute over the waste disposal.

The ASX-listed rare earths miner said it would need to meet certain conditions, including the relocation of its initial processing operations from Malaysia to Western Australia within a four-year period.

Lynas Malaysia said it was confident of meeting an additional requirement to obtain consent for a permanent water leach purification deposit facility within six months.
