With one mighty swing, Chicago White Sox rookie Luis Robert put his stamp on Game 3 of the American League wild-card series.

Leading off the second inning against Oakland A’s right-hander Mike Fiers, Robert crushed a 487-foot home run to give Chicago an early lead in the franchise’s first-ever winner-take-all postseason game.

Enjoy.

According to the ESPN broadcast, at 23 years and 59 days, Robert is the youngest player to hit a home run in a winner-take-all game since Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle did it for the New York Yankees in Game 7 of the 1952 World Series.

Unfortunately for Chicago, it was one of the few highlights of the afternoon. Despite Robert later adding an RBI single, the A’s would prevail 6-4 to advance to the ALDS.

It was the first career postseason home run for Robert, who is among the top candidates to win AL Rookie of the Year. Despite this season’s disappointing outcome, we’d be willing to bet it won’t be his last.
