Yahoo Finance Sean McVay won't announce if Jared Goff or John Wolford will start vs. Seahawks in playoffs
Though they are just days away from their wild-card matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, Sean McVay isn’t going to reveal who the Los Angeles Rams’ starting quarterback will be on Saturday.
Fans will likely have to wait until kickoff to learn if Jared Goff or John Wolford will be out on the field.
"I'm not gonna make an announcement on who is starting and who is not," McVay said Tuesday, via ESPN. "I'm not going to answer that question this week."
Jared Goff recovering after thumb surgery
Goff underwent surgery after he broke it in their Week 16 loss to the Seahawks, which forced Wolford into the starting lineup.
McVay said Goff has been throwing a bit this week, but wasn’t sure how far he has progressed in his rehab since the surgery.
"He's coming along well," McVay said, via ESPN. "He did just have surgery pretty recently, so I know he's doing everything in his power to get himself ready to go."
Wolford did fine in his NFL debut — or at least, he did enough — last week to help the Rams secure an 18-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals and secure their spot in the postseason. The 25-year-old racked up 231 passing yards with one interception and led the team with 56 rushing yards.
"I did like a lot of the things that he did the other day and so that gives you some flexibility with how you handle this week, but feel good about having two guys," McVay said, via ESPN. "How much Jared is able to do this week and how that thing feels will definitely go into how we handle the rest of the week and what it looks like for Saturday."
Jamal Adams a game-day decision
Just like the Rams’ quarterback situation, the Seahawks still don’t know if safety Jamal Adams will be ready to go by Saturday.
Adams, during the Seahawks’ Week 17 matchup with the 49ers, injured his shoulder in the fourth quarter after taking a huge block from Jerick McKinnon.

Adams stayed in the game for two more plays, but later walked off the field clearly in pain and frustrated.
Though Seattle coach Pete Carroll is optimistic, he’s planning to give Adams as much time to recover as possible.
“He’s going to work through the week and see what he can get done and see if he’s OK,” Carroll said Tuesday, via the Tacoma News Tribune. “We’ll have to wait all the way up to game day to figure that out … Just judging from my general outlook, I’m positive. I’m more positive than not.”
