Lonnie Walker has jokes for somber report on wrist injury: 'I almost said RIP my damn self'

Lonnie Walker IV is dealing with a wrist injury.

The San Antonio Spurs guard has missed three games with what's described as "soreness" and is expected to miss more time.

How's his recovery going?

"Slowly but surely," head coach Gregg Popovich said Saturday. "I'm thinking another week or so."

'Rest up, Lonnie'

One Spurs fan site is taking the news particularly hard. Spurs Nation posted a well-made Twitter graphic on Saturday featuring a somber-looking Walker captioned "let's all wish Lonnie Walker IV a speedy recovery." The tweet also included the ubiquitous "prayers up" emoji. Or is it a high-five? We're guessing in this case, it's prayers.

'All this for a wrist'

Walker apparently saw the graphic on his timeline. And he wanted to assure his followers that there's no need to for concern about his his health.

Spurs fans will be glad to hear that Walker's ok. And for Walker, it's surely nice to know that people care.
