Yahoo Finance Londoner weather forecast: Enjoy ‘last blast’ of summer this week before autumn sets in
Londoners will be able to bask in warm summer-like sunshine this week before the weather turns autumnal.
Forecasters predicts a high of 23C in London on Thursday before periods of low-pressure move in, bringing cooler and wetter conditions at the weekend.
A Met Office spokesman told the Standard: “We’re definitely into autumn now. There will be periods of finer weather for London certainly at the beginning of this week before it takes a turn for the autumnal.
“It was a cloudy and drizzly start this morning there are still one or two showers knocking around this afternoon but these will be generally clearing overnight.
“Temperatures will stay at around 20C or so, which is above average for this time of year. The south east is faring the best with a front moving to north west of Scotland.
“There will be a little bit of cloud around with outbreaks of sunshine during the day.
“The change starts to come in this weekend with an area of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic making the weather a bit more unsettled.”
From the weekend onwards, a very general north west to south east split to our weather is likely to develop, the Met Office said, with the drier and sunnier weather looks more likely around London.
Met Office forecaster Alex Deakin said: “The main three weather elements will be foggy conditions in the mornings, some heavy showers around - in fact, some big downpours are likely, but by no means for everyone - and there will be some warm sunshine around also.
“Basically, we’re expecting a bit more cloud on Sunday and a greater chance of seeing some heavy showers. Some big downpours are possible. A lot of rain could fall in a relatively short space of time.”
A yellow weather warning was in place for Sunday with the east of England set to be battered by heavy rain and thundery showers in a “relatively short time”.
