Liverpool FC XI vs Leeds: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today

 (ES Composite)
(ES Composite)

With Liverpool’s Champions League campaign over, Jurgen Klopp is likely to go full-strength against Leeds United on Monday night as his side chase a Premier League top-four finish.

The Reds were knocked out of the Champions League in midweek after drawing 0-0 with Real Madrid in the second leg of their quarter-final tie, having lost the first leg 3-1 in Spain a week earlier.

The Reds were without Curtis Jones for last weekend’s win over Aston Villa, with his absence called precautionary by the club, but the England U21 international did not feature against Real Madrid either, so it remains to be seen whether he is fit.

Thiago Alcantara started on the bench for that game but could well come into the starting XI, while Diogo Jota seems likely to return, too, potentially as part of a front-four.

The Reds remain without the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez because of long-term injuries, while there is still hope that Jordan Henderson could be back to play some part in the run-in.

The match will also be played out under the cloud of the stunning news that Liverpool are one of the 12 founding members of a new breakaway European Super League - a move which has drawn condemnation from across the worlds of football and politics.

Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Phillips, Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago, Wijnaldum, Jota, Salah, Firmino.

Injury list: Van Dijk, Henderson, Matip, Gomez, Origi, Kelleher
