At 0635 AEDT on Wednesday, the Australian dollar was worth 76.34 US cents, from 76.33 US cents on Tuesday.
Westpac's Imre Speizer says the US dollar index fell sharply but the euro outperformed most currencies leaving the Aussie dollar to trade mostly sideways.
