Light plane narrowly misses houses in NSW crash

A light plane has crashed north-west of Newcastle in New South Wales.

Police have been told the plane narrowly missed houses before it collided with trees near an aerodrome at Luskintyre at about midday (AEDT).

Officers say the pilot in his late 20s was practising landing and taking off.

He and a male passenger have been taken to a Newcastle hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
