The LGBTQIA+ owned furniture brand that should be on your home inspo board

In The Know is proud to celebrate Pride Month. During this month, our team will highlight a wide range of LGBTQIA+ owned brands. We encourage you to support today and always.

Our team is dedicated to finding and telling you more about the products and deals we love. If you love them too and decide to purchase through the links below, we may receive a commission. Pricing and availability are subject to change.

Think functional yet beautiful. That’s the philosophy behind the stunning furniture designs you’ll find from Erdos + Ko, an LGBTQIA+ owned furniture and decor brand based in Dallas, Texas, that should be at the top of your #homegoals vision board.

With a mission to provide beautiful furnishings that you’ll actually want to put in your own home, Erdos + Ko‘s unique style combines organic materials and modern elements for a timeless look. One quick browse on the brand’s website, and you’ll see this style at play in designs like the Bennett chandelier in dark oak and the Bass coffee table crafted of iron and oak.

In addition to providing beautiful home furnishings, giving back is important to John Erdos and Louis Koay, the co-founders of Erdos + Ko. Nearly three years ago, they started Taste of Hope, a charity organization that has since provided more than 4,000 home-cooked meals as well as coats, blankets, face masks and hand sanitizer to those experiencing homelessness in the Dallas area.

Erdos’ passion for furniture began over 25 years ago, he explains in a video on the brand’s website. Koay started his career in design as a mechanical engineer. With their combined more than 30 years of experience, they merged their complementary talents and launched Erdos + Ko.

“Our design philosophy is that the product needs to be functional. The second thing is that it has to be beautiful in the way it looks and the way it presents itself. We want customers to be proud that they have that design in their home,” Erdos says in the video. “Finally, we have to offer our products at a satisfying price point. Those three things are really what drive us as designers.”

Outside of typical home furnishings like abstract artwork and one-of-a-kind nightstands, Erdos + Ko’s specializes in custom furniture and upholstery, as well as a custom art program.

“There are so many stresses in this world. Why should buying furniture not be fun?” Erdos says in the video.
